Women and Football - What's In It For You?

Updated on February 12, 2014

YOU GOTTA REALLY LOVE FOOTBALL....

A WOMAN WHO WANTS TO PLAY FOOTBALL - NEEDs TO LEARN ABOUT FOOTBALL

This Hub is for women who are thinking about learning more about the game of football and how to play football, or how football is played!

In my immediate family, I am surrounded by a few guys, who really enjoy footbal. Although my main man - husband - enjoys a good college football game - and loves to play basketball in particular - I do have - particularly one - who really really LOVES FOOTBALL!

I want to strengthen my relationship with the men in my life, but as I am just not into football - I have kind of a difficult time communicating with this one particular male in my life.

I realize that there are many women - who actually like football. So I have decided that maybe IF I will take the time to learn more about how the game of football is played... that I might be able to build a better relationship with this one particular man in my life.

Not that he is some football dummy or anything like that... but since he really enjoys football so much and tends to like watching it on T.V. so much... I figure that if I get educated about football and how to play the game - then I could hang out with him more often, doing something we both enjoy.

I am thinking that if I could just learn the lingo of football just a little bit... then perhaps between 'plays'.... I might be able to throw an intelligent pass at him, (smile) and have some real talking and conversation going on - without him even realizing that we are actually communicating.

Smart women, who want to communicate better with their men who just happen to love football a lot, must then get a little creative and apply a bit of know 'how' - in order to play with these guys we love.

TEACHING A WOMAN ABOUT FOOTBALL...

COMMUNICATING TO WOMEN - WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT - TO BETTER UNDERSTAND PLAYING THE GAME OF FOOTBALL?

Like, why are there a only certain number of guys out there on the playing field - throwing, wrestling and hollering their brains out? Is there strategy to all of this?

If women really want to understand football, they need to understand what it means to support their husbands, brothers, sons and or any male friends in their lives.

Think about it... when someone close to you shows genuine interest in what you are interested in - then suddenly - they become interested in YOU too.

Each one of us must learn, what another persons hobbies, interests, loves and passions are - IF we really want to know them and have them also want to know us.

If you have men in your live ladies... that happen to love football, basketball, mountain biking, fishing, basketball, music.... what ever - then it will require some work for you to 'know' them a little bit better.

Above all - is to care enough about them... is to care about that which they happen to care about.... Even if our attempts are somewhat feeble - I believe that showing those football fans of ours - that we are interested - will actually let them know just how important they are to us.

And isn't that why - we would even consider learning about football in the first place? You give 'me' another reason:-)

GO FOR IT!
